Kristy Souza

MS, LMFT, LSAA

Kristy began her career in 2006 after earning her Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix. She has since worked with a diverse population in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas. Kristy has experience working with clients with a variety of concerns, including substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+ matters, communication issues, relationship conflict, anger, and more. She works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families.

After becoming a therapist, Kristy dreamed of creating her own group practice. She is a trauma-trained and trauma-informed therapist who often sees her clients through this lens. She utilizes a variety of modalities when working with clients including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Gottman Method, and Systems Theory.

Kristy prides herself in giving back to the community. She was named as a “40 Under Forty” honoree by Albuquerque Business First, has served as past President of the New Mexico Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and loves volunteering at various events in the community. When Kristy is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and her "fur baby," Gracie.
