Kristy Souza

MS, LMFT, LSAA

Licensed in: New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Illinois, and Florida

Kristy began her career in 2006 after earning her master's degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix. She has since worked with a diverse population in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho areas. Kristy has experience working with clients on a variety of concerns, including substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+ matters, communication issues, relationship conflict, and anger. She works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families in New Mexico, and offers telehealth to clients in Texas, Colorado, Illinois, and Florida.

After becoming a therapist, Kristy dreamed of creating her own group practice. She is trauma-trained and works from a trauma-informed lens with her clients. She uses a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Gottman Method, and Systems Theory.

Kristy prides herself on giving back to the community. She was named a "40 Under Forty" honoree by Albuquerque Business First, has served as past President of the New Mexico Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and enjoys volunteering at various community events. When she's not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and her "fur baby," Gracie.

* Please note that at this time, Kristy is not accepting new clients.
